Rebecca Martin | Tropical Kingfisher 5x5 Card (11)

Rebecca Martin is an artist and pianist. She was born in Virginia and lived in Virginia Beach until she moved to Colorado in 1974. She loves both the ocean and the mountains and is happiest outdoors. As an avid hiker, Rebecca gets inspired by the beautiful scenery of both California and Colorado and paints her inspirations of landscapes, flowers, birds, seascapes, and still life. She enjoys painting almost every day in her studio as well as en plein air. Rebecca equates teaching and performing piano similar to painting with oils; she finds the feel of her fingertips on ivory keys is similar to the glide of paint on canvas. She is drawn to strong, bold colors. Rebecca believes art and music make our lives richer, more colorful, happier, and more exciting! She is a member of East Boulder County Artists and the Louisville Art Association. Her work has been exhibited in national juried shows in Colorado and California.
